Hi!  Erica Murcia here with another episode of Tech Tip Tuesday.  This week we’re going to be talking about how to launch multiple websites using your preferred browser.  In this case, I’m going to show you with Internet Explorer.  The same thing can be done in Chrome and Firefox.  Pretty much all the popular browsers support it in some way, form, or fashion.

If you’re like me, you come in to work.  There’s generally a handful of websites that you open up when you start your day.  It gets real tiring having to open up different tabs, and type in your different websites that you’re going to be accessing.

Let the Browser Do the Work

Inside of Internet Explorer, if you go over here to this little settings icon.  It looks like a little cog.  Click on that and go to “Internet Options”.  Here we have this box for “Home Page”.  I’m going to go ahead and add a couple of entries in here.  I’ll add one that I actually use on a frequent basis.  Let’s add two.  All I’m doing is hitting the enter key after each one to put it on a different line.  I’m going to go ahead and click “Apply” and “OK”.

Now when I close Internet Explorer and open it back up, (I spelled [that site] wrong.), every single one of these sites has opened up on its own.  It’s basically ready for me to go.  I can literally just open up Internet Explorer, and I’m ready to go for the day.

Quick, Easy, and Efficient Browsing

That’s a real quick, easy way to get your day started on the right foot without having to open up all these different windows.  You can let the software do it for you.  It will always remember it.  You can change, insert, reorder things however you like.  I find that makes at least the start of my day a little bit more efficient each time.  That’s your tech tip for this Tuesday.  I look forward to talking to you again next week.
